Favorite Jewish Russian Books from the Jewish Russian Library

Еврейские Книги на русском языке Online

These Jewish Russian books, or Russian Jewish books, (however your refer to them) which come from our Library -The Jewish Russian Library on 18th Avenue and 44th Street in Brooklyn, were scanned page by page into a computer. The scanning software saves all text (from pages scanned) in an image or picture format. This format takes up an enormous amount of memory and takes very long to download. For this reason, Optical Character Recognition Software  - OCR - was used to convert the book pages stored as images, back into files based on letters and words.  Because the Russian  character recognition software (OCR) is  imperfect, many errors were made in interpreting the text. This is why you will find wrong letters, words, sentences, and even many unintelligible pages. Fixing the mistakes in the books is a lengthy process which we will be doing over time. Since we have little man power, we won't be able to do it as fast as we would like to.

At the same time, even now, with all the mistakes and unintelligible pages, there is much that is understandable, enlightening, and inspiring in these Jewish Russian books. Please excuse the mistakes and enjoy what you can.

If you know of anyone who would like to volunteer to help fix the texts, it would be appreciated.

To read or buy  Russian Jewish books (in paper bound format) please come to our library, the Jewish Russian Library at 4429 18th Avenue in Brooklyn or order our books by phone (1-718-854-2398).

We look forward to meeting and serving you.
